Mecklenburg County Commissioners recently announced $99 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to support five areas including Affordable Housing and Homelessness, Behavioral Health and Health Equity, Childcare and Early Childhood Development, Parks Environment and Infrastructure, Workforce and Economic Development. The funds are from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and Freedom School Partners (FSP) is honored to be one out of the eleven recipients of the Childcare and Early Childhood Development component.
A total of $260,000 will support scholars from across the Charlotte region to have access to quality summer learning experiences. Over the next two years these funds will help Freedom School serve 150 scholars through the joy of the Freedom School program.
