The Director of Development leads Freedom School Partners’ (FSP) vision of philanthropy, secures charitable contributions and supports FSP’s mission. This position will lead FSP’s fundraising effort to implement a creative, successful, well-organized and diversified fundraising program that brings in a minimum of $2.5 million in contributed revenue each year through gifts from individuals, faith and community groups, corporations and foundations. The Director of Development is responsible for leading a team that manages and executes individual and major giving strategies, strengthens and expands FSP’s marketing and communications efforts and deepens volunteer engagement efforts. This position serves as a key team member at Freedom School Partners, working collaboratively to address short-term issues and reach long-term strategic goals for the organization. The Individual Giving and Donor Stewardship Manager works as a member of the Development Team to support the individual giving and major gift strategies of Freedom School Partners. The Servant Leader Intern (SLI) serves as a classroom teacher in a Freedom School literacy based summer enrichment program. The SLI helps to serve breakfast and lunch, leads a literacy rich curriculum during the morning, and leads/chaperones activities or field trips in the afternoon. The Site Administrative Intern (SAI) is responsible for managing, organizing and performing administrative duties for the site and, along with the Site Coordinator, serves as the primarily liaison between the site and Freedom School Partners’ main office staff. The Site Coordinator serves as the on-site manager of a Freedom School literacy based summer enrichment program. The Site Coordinator should be experienced in working with large groups of children, responsible, energetic, possess the ability to think on his/her feet, well organized, a good leader and a strong role model. He/She may have worked in the past as a CDF Freedom Schools® Servant Leader Intern or a similar position. The Site Coordinator should be familiar with the culture and dynamics of the community to be served, committed to the goals of the CDF Freedom Schools® program, and able to work collaboratively with all program constituents.
