Following a robust search process, Freedom School Partners (FSP) proudly announces the appointment of Nikki Keith as its new Chief Executive Officer. FSP is a Charlotte-based non-profit that combats summer learning loss by providing six-weeks of rich summer learning experiences for scholars in grades K-8. With an unwavering commitment to educational equity and community impact, Nikki steps into this pivotal role ready to usher in a new era of leadership for FSP and the Charlotte region.

Bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for social change, Nikki joins Freedom School Partners with a vision to amplify the organization’s mission to inspire scholars to love reading and learning, believe in themselves, and create extraordinary futures. Her extensive background in education and community development makes her an ideal leader to drive impactful change and advocate for the advancement of every child’s potential.

Nikki is familiar with FSP’s work as former Director of Development, Chief Development Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer from 2016 to 2021. Most recently she has successfully led efforts to increase employer partner commitments at Road to Hire as a member of its Senior Leadership Team.

“I am enthusiastic about joining the FSP community to support summer learning opportunities for children who need them most,” Nikki shared. “Additionally, I look forward to working collaboratively with FSP’s many partners to promote the long-term success of all children.”

“The Board of Directors and I could not be more thrilled to have a leader who understands and embodies the spirit of the Freedom School movement,” said Kate Flynn, FSP Board Chair. “Nikki’s demonstrated professional accomplishments will set FSP up to achieve its strategic goals as we continue to serve the youth of Charlotte.”

This summer FSP plans to serve approximately 700 scholars at 13 strategically placed sites across Charlotte-Mecklenburg. As Freedom School Partners embarks on this new chapter with Nikki at the helm, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment to their scholars, families, community, and mission. Keith will assume her new role on Monday, April 29th.
