Freedom School Partners (FSP) has a rich history of inspiring the lives of scholars in the Charlotte region since becoming incorporated as a certified 501(c)(3) on November 29, 1999 (originally as Seigle Avenue Partners). In 2004, FSP was selected by the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) to join community organizations around the country to serve as a local sponsor for CDF’s six-week, literacy-rich summer program called Freedom School. That year, FSP launched its first CDF Freedom Schools program for 100 scholars. Since then, FSP has continued to serve the Charlotte community through exciting summer learning experiences for those who need it most.

The launch of our 2023-2025 strategic plan ensures that this legacy will continue for years to come.
