Individual Giving

Our annual donors support the mission of Freedom School Partners to promote the long-term success of children by preventing summer learning loss through igniting a passion for reading and inspiring a love of learning. Your gift supports scholars and their families who most need yet can least afford a quality summer enrichment experience focused on literacy and social emotional skills. Scholars receive necessary books to build home libraries and supplies to use for the upcoming school year.

Scholar Society members contribute a minimum of $1,500 to Freedom School Partners per year, which is the cost of sending one scholar to Freedom School for the summer. Join the Scholar Society with a gift or pledge of $1,500 or more.

Supplies Needed

Please contact us first by emailing  [email protected]  and  [email protected]  before dropping off donations to FSP Latrobe, our warehouse, or our office. Thank you!

Ensure another summer of fun and learning for our scholars by donating easy to find, much-needed supplies! Each month, you can donate supplies (classroom and household items) and books to support our programs, which are collected the 4th Thursday of every month. Here’s how you can help:

DONATE Classroom Supplies: At the beginning of Freedom School, each scholar and Servant Leader Intern is provided with the basics needed for success (e.g., construction paper, glue, scissors etc.). Purchasing specific items on the collection list is a cost-effective way to help while doing your routine shopping!

DONATE Books: To help our scholars develop a love of learning through reading, we provide them with books, helping them build a personal library at home. To donate new or gently-used books appropriate for students’ grades K-8, simply drop them off at FSP Latrobe the 4th Thursday of every month. (Please reach out to [email protected] and [email protected] before dropping them off.)

DONATE Household Supplies: A key component of Freedom School is family involvement, and we do our part by providing needed resources for parents. You can donate household supplies (e.g., all-purpose cleaner, tissues, hand sanitizer, etc.) for our parent bags.

Scholar and Servant Leader Intern snacks: Show appreciation for our scholars’ and Servant Leader Interns’ hard work by providing them snacks once a week. Please contact our office at (704) 371-4922 for more information about providing nutritional snacks to fuel learning.

If you have any questions about donating resources, hosting a book or supply drive, please contact Tommy Hudnall, Volunteer & Donor Coordinator, at [email protected].
